
An evening with Peter Wright
The Driffield Showground in the Rix Pavilion
on Wednesday 4th March 2020 at 7pm.
The Yorkshire Vet, Peter practices at Skeldale Veterinary Centre, he qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1981 and, following a short period working in Bedfordshire, has practised in his beloved Thirsk for over 35 years. He worked with Alf Wight and Donald Sinclair, the original James Herriot and Siegfried Farnon, and loves recounting stories from his time with them.
Peter also feature in the popular television programme The Yorkshire Vet and has just released his first book “In the footsteps of Herriot”.
Gill Butler, Education Chair said:
“Events like this enables us to provide free educational events for children from across the East Riding and Hull. We have now held 4 Food and Farming Days, when we have welcomed almost 4,000 children to spend the day at the Driffield Showground learning about the journey their food takes from the farm to their table. The events have been so successful we will be holding the event again, inviting more children to experience the world of food and farming on Wednesday 20th May 2020.”
